Give thanks Nov. 14

I am thankful for books.

Through books I have learned, escaped, made friends, and had great adventures.

Without books my life would be much less interesting, moving would have been a lot easier, and I would have quite a bit more money in the bank. I also wouldn't have to worry about when my books were due back to the library or paying my 20 cent late fees for forgetting to drop them off. But without books, I wouldn't be friends with Jem and Scout, Stephanie Plum, Lady Emily, Tyrion Lannister, or Jon Snow. I would never have been to Hogwarts, Forks, District twelve, or Wonderland. I wouldn't know how absolutely real the social and health perils of fast food are, how economics plays a part in prostitution, or anything about the first ladies of our great nation.

Books open new worlds and new knowledge. They keep me sane when life is hectic and stressful, they cheer my up when life is sad. Books are some of my best friends.

1 Chronicles 16:34
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
