If I owned a restaurant I would have cool names for my food. I've actually put a lot of thought into this subject because at various times in our lives my brother and I have talked about opening a restaurant, a bar, a bakery, or a wedding venue. Oh and a music store... but that doesn't really fit in to this story.
Anyway, I would name a few items after people who loved them... for example: The Bianca Sandwich: Fresh Mozzarella , tomato slices, basil pesto; Kenton's PB&J: Creamy peanut butter, choice of jam or honey, and banana slices; Michele's famous chicken salad on a croissant (because my mom's chicken salad is famous among our friends); etc. It would be so much fun to go somewhere and order your namesake sandwich. I would serve more than sandwiches, those are just the items I've put the most thought into.
Now that I make my own sandwich bread, the size of sandwiches are our house has increased significantly. I've actually started just making half sandwiches for myself because I can't finish a whole one, no half sandwiches for Christopher though, he's become the king of sandwich eating.
This is the sandwich I made him for lunch yesterday. It has corned beef, Cabot hot habanero cheddar cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing all on my homemade white bread. Then I grilled it like a grilled cheese and he practically swallowed it whole. I'd say that was a successful sandwich.
Remember all that cereal I bought last weekend? I've been enjoy it alongside a half sandwich for my lunches. It's my new equivalent to chips. You should try it.
