2017 To Do List

For the last few years I have made annual to do lists instead of resolutions. I love a good list, so this works for me. Plus, if anything is left on the list at the end of the year I can decide if I want to move it to the next year's list or adjust the task or forget about it completely.

Last year I had a few different lists, but this year I am going to keep it simple. One list.

I decided to leave this list a little more flexible so that maybe some of it will actually get done.

I have several house projects that I would like to complete this year. I would like to finish painting the inside of our house, finish replacing the interior doors, replace the carpet with hard floors, and repaint the outside trim.

We have really been enjoying our Disney passes so far, so I'd like make sure we really take advantage of them.

I have been trying to learn to process my feelings, instead of ignoring them. My therapist has suggested meditation and so far I am not very good at it. Hopefully, I will get better this year.

Christopher and I have a few ideas of places we'd like travel this year, but we haven't made any final decisions. There are so many places we haven't been that honestly, anywhere is great!

I have a whole craft room full of supplies for all types of projects, and I really need to start using them!

I get a Birchbox every month and more often that I'd like to admit there is a product in there I don't know how to use. Sometimes I will watch a YouTube video or read about the product, but very rarely do I actually sit and practice. I don't know how to apply eye liner without looking like a scary doll, or highlighter, or concealer, or even how to wear lipstick without feeling like I look weird.

I am also planning to take a picture every day this year. I want to document things, but hopefully not to the detriment of the experience. I made a jar for things that I want more than a picture from, or things that can't really be photographed, jokes, conversations, feelings. I had a jar that I wasn't using so, I cut out a vinyl heart that says "2017 Memories" and attached a clip with index cards and a pen to the lid so I can jot down memories and put them in the jar. I figure we can also drop in other things we might find significant or worth remembering. I think it will be interesting to see what ends up in here by the end of the year.

I'm looking forward to this year, and hopeful that we will learn new things, do new things, and get some practical shit done.

Happy 2017!
