Thirty-four

Yesterday I turned 34.

I truly believe that aging is a privilege that so many people are not afforded. I do not take any of the years, months, weeks, or days I have spent on this plant for granted. I don’t try to hide my age, I don’t worry about getting older, and I try to persuade others to share this view on birthdays. There is nothing bad or sad about adding another year to the number of times you’ve circled the sun. Appreciate that you got to have those years, and plan to do fun and meaningful things while you are still around to do them.

Now… the important part, celebrating.

On Tuesday I got really cool bouquet of flowers from my parents delivered to work. The bouquet is from bouqs, and has two giant succulents (that I will try and plant and keep alive), pink baby roses, alstroemeria (I think), and eucalyptus.

On Wednesday, I celebrated my birthday at Magic Kingdom with Christopher, and my brother Josh’s family (Josh, Kimber, Molly, Heidi aka JKMH).

We had such a fun day. We rode the Teacups, Little Mermaid, carousel, Tomorrowland Speedway, People Mover, Buzz Lightyear, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Magic Carpets. Plus we saw Mickey’s Philharmagic Orchestra and Monster’s Laugh Factory shows. Ate a ton of popcorn and dole whip. Squished pennies, and got balloons. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.

After our busy day at Magic Kingdom. Christopher and I order dinner on UberEats and watched a couple episodes of The Office to go along with the episodes of The Office Ladies podcast we listened to in the car.

Today (Thursday), I was surprised with a homemade PINK FUNFETTI birthday cake, that my friend Amanda made for me. It was delicious, and I snacked on a huge piece all morning while drinking coffee. I was not expecting anything at all today, so this was a really fun surprise.

This was definitely one of the best birthdays ever. A bunch of my favorites things with some of my favorite people.

This weekend we are going to the Scottish Highland Games and I will have my annual deep fried Mars bar, while watching men in kilts parade all around me, and I cannot wait.

I hope this birthday was just a taste of a great year ahead. Happy Birthday to me!
