Election 2020
Let’s talk about Voting. Voting is your RIGHT and responsibility as a member of a democracy, not a privilege. Your voice and your vote matter. I don’t give a shit who you plan to vote for. I just want you to vote. We have ONE MONTH (and a day) until voting ends. The 2020 election is HAPPENING NOW, it ends November 3. Please make sure you are registered to vote, have a plan to vote, and vote every chance you get, especially now.
While just making it to the polls and filling in some bubbles is the least you can do to support democracy, doing a little research on your candidates and ballot measures (amendments) is a good use of your time while we wait for early voting to open in Florida. You can research what is on your ballot NOW.
For my Orlando area pals, here are some local resources to help make sure you can cast your vote in the 2020 election.
EARLY VOTING in Florida
Monday, October 19th through Sunday, November 1st
Seminole County Early Voting Locations - Open 7 am to 7 pm
Orange County Early Voting Locations - Open 8 am to 8 pm
If you want to vote on ELECTION DAY, please make sure to verify your polling place, as it may have changed since the last time you voted, especially because of Covid-19.
Tuesday, November 3rd - 7 am to 7 pm
If you plan to vote in person, please be prepared to wait, bring supplies, wear a fucking mask, be kind to your fellow voters and to the poll workers. It’s going to be a LONG day for everyone, be nice to the people who are there to ensure you can exercise your right to vote. People will be emotional, please show grace and kindness. Maybe even say thank you.
