We are jut getting settled back in at home after almost two weeks on vacation. We flew to Seattle for a weeklong cruise to Alaska, spent 36 hours in Seattle exploring, and then flew to Orlando for a quick 36 hours there to see a show and a few family members. It’s been crazy. So this is a chill set of favorites.

  1. Wash, dry, fold laundry service

This one is a little extra, but laundry is a pain to deal with in real life and even more annoying on vacation.

After a weeklong cruise and a little sightseeing in Seattle plus a quick trip to Orlando I was not looking forward to all the laundry we’d have to do when we got home. So as a little vacation treat to myself, I scheduled a laundry service pick up while we were in Orlando. The service picked up our dirty clothes at the hotel, washed them, and returned them the next morning. Then when we got home we only had one day worth of dirty clothes to pop in the hamper.

The first time we used a wash and dry service was a few weeks ago when Christopher and I went to Michigan and Canada. We packed half the clothes we needed and planned to do laundry while we were there. We went to a local laundromat and noticed that the wash and dry, no fold, laundry service was under $1 per pound of dirty clothes. Because we were only washing a few days worth of clothes we ended up paying for the minimum load of 10 lbs or $7.50 which was the same as the cost of washing and drying them ourselves. So we dropped that mess off and picked it up 3 hours later. Clean and put back in our laundry bags. We always roll our clothes in suitcases so we didn’t pay to have them folded just to unfold them.

2. Fall Leaves

This is our first fall living somewhere with leaves that will change colors and fall. I am beyond pumped. I love fall. I love warm beverages, heated blankets, regular blankets, snuggling up with Christopher and Lucy, pumpkins, sweaters, a crisp breeze, and of course the beautiful show put on by trees changing colors. I plan to take weekly photos to document the changes over the next several weeks, because I plan to enjoy every minute of this first fall in VA.

3. My new Halloween coffee mug

I love drinking coffee out of a real mug, but I don’t love the glass coffee mugs at the coffee shop I visit almost daily. I drink my coffee slow and they just don’t quite keep the coffee warm long enough for my slowness. So I went on the hunt for something cute to bring in for my daily latte now that I have switched from iced coffee to hot coffee. I found this cutie mug at T.J. Maxx and I think it’s just Fab-boo-lous!

4. Fall nails

I have wanted to get fun nail art for ages, but I get nervous and then don’t ask about it, but not this week! I got brave and asked about nail art and now I have fun nude, orange, and deep pinky/red nails. I’m very excited about it and hoping I can keep from breaking a nail for at least a week so I can really get some enjoyment out of them.

I hope you had a great week. Let us know your favorites from this week in the comments.
