The Great Escape: Putting Our Life in Storage
If you’ve been around recently, you know we are exploding our life. We sold our house and are moving to a new state, which one? who knows! And one of the first steps in this great escape is to pack up our life and send it to storage. We are using PODS to store and move all the things we have carefully curated over the last 13 years of marrige and 10 years of home ownership.
While packing and getting thigs ready to put in the PODS, Chris asked me if I wanted to bring the peg board I had hanging in my office. Without thinking about it too hard, I said yes, if it fits. He looked at my like, ma’am have you forgotten how shapes work… and said, “well, it’s flat, so I think we can make it work”. We both laughed so hard and I still can’t believe I wasn’t sure if there would be room for the FLAT piece of peg board. Just to be sure we had room, I made sure it was packed first. hehehehe.
Because we are grown now (old) and didn’t want to move furniture, we hired movers to pack our stuff into the PODS, and thank god we did. These magicians made the PODS seem like a Mary Poppins carpet bag. They just kept finding room for more and more and more shit. Like HOW? I know they are professionals and do this every day, but I was still absolutly stunned at the amount of shit they skillfully jammed into these two 16’ containers.
It was a miracle we got in as much as we did, and we still have two cars completely jammed full AND topped with car top carriers. We need less stuff.
We don’t have a new house yet, so we are moving in with my parents, and are super stoked to get some of those delicious mom cooked meals while we explore our options and look for a new place to call home.
While we obviously need to take some things with us to my parent’s house for the inbetween, we won’t see most of our stuff until we have a new house. So fingers crossed something cute in a good location, with two bathrooms and a garage becomes available soon.
See ya later stuff, enjoy your vacation at the PODS storage facility.
