13 Years of Lucy

Monday was Lucy’s 13th gotcha day! The 13 years we’ve been her humans have been the best of my life. My two childhood dogs only lived to be 8 and 10, and Lucy was two when we adopted her, so the last five years have felt like bonus time with our Lucy girl.

Over the last year Lucy overcame one of her biggest fears and finally made friends with my parent’s dog, Jasper. They have tolerated each other for a couple years, but now they can eat treats together, sit on the same couch, and sometimes they ALMOST snuggle. It’s a huge improvement, and super cute.

I am trying to convince Lucy she’s a porch and coffee shop dog. She’s still thinking about it.

Lucy has also really embraced being a travel dog. We’ve taken lots of trips back to Florida and to explore places we might want to live. She loves car rides and running on the carpet in hotel hallways.

Every day with Lucy is such a joy and I am so glad we’ve been able to have so many.

Happy gotcha day little Lucy girl. We love you so much!
