2024 Goals Recap

This year I tried to keep my goals kind of simple, and honestly, I still forgot about a couple of them. Oops.

Read 15 books

I read eight books. Five of those books were autobiography audiobooks read by the author. I have not been in a great place this year and for some reason, reading has not been the escape it used to be. If you want to see what I’ve read, you can check out my Goodreads.

Find a new home

We finally found a new home and moved out of my parent’s guestroom! Our new home is a rental in Florida, which wasn’t the plan, but honestly, I give up on plans dude.

Start working again

I am absolutely not cut out to be a stay-at-home wife. I loved the freedom to do things during the week, travel with Christopher, and write from coffee shops or the porch or bed, but damn, I missed people. I also missed paychecks. In June, I texted a friend that I was planning to move back to Florida when I got a job, and he said, cool, I’m hiring. And here we are! I work remotely, so I have all the benefits of coworkers and learning a new job while wearing slippers, watching the squirrels climb the pool screen, and being able to travel with Christopher or visit my parents and work from there.

Go to the beach

We went to the beach in North Carolina for our anniversary in May, and it was 50 degrees, rainy, and windy the whole time. We went down with our chairs, fully clothed, and used beach towels as blankets a couple of times, but it was just too freaking cold. Now that we are back in Florida, I want to make beach days a regular thing.

Try a new recipe each month

I 100% forgot about this goal. I might have tried a new recipe most months, but I couldn’t be sure.

Plant a spring/summer garden

I planted herbs and mini bell peppers. I used some of them. Lucy died. I never checked on them again.

Start a new tradition with Christopher

I am cheating a little bit with this one. Our rental has a pool!! So, we have decided to have a pizza + pool day each week once it’s warm enough to go in the pool. For right now, we just sit by the pool and admire it.

I did the best I could this year. I have been
