Our Last Attempt

Today, we made a second offer on a house in Bristol, VA. It was built in the 30s, has original hardwood floors, some original trim, an updated kitchen, a nicely finished basement with a full bath, and so many windows.

Our stuff will even fit! Our big comfy couch, our family piano, the buffet my brother and Christopher built, and our bedroom furniture that Popsicle built for us. There is a beautiful brick patio in the backyard, room for a small garden, and a stock tank or above-ground pool for floating.

Two of the bedrooms upstairs have views of the mountains, and it’s in the downtown historic district so we’d be close to State St. which has restaurants and bars, and hosts festivals.

But if this house doesn’t work out, we’re out. Two years without moving forward is too long. I need a next step like last year, so this is the last attempt to stay in Southwest Virginia.

While I don’t know for sure what will come next, I know we plan to move quickly to make something happen.

Exploding your life is not easy, and I am weary. I need stability, plans, and some sense of normalcy. So, we’ll see what happens, I just hope whatever it is, happens soon.
