Today is my last day at my current job. And I just realized I forgot to blog about my new job! Thanks to an awesome friend of mine, I will be a part time career adviser at one of the local community colleges. YAY! I am so excited. I wish it was full time but it's still a step in the right direction. I will have the real weekends off again plus I don't work on Fridays. And I don't have to be in until 2pm. Hello beautiful sleep, welcome back into my life. I start my new job after the school comes back from Christmas Break in January! So as much as I am glad to leave the job I have now, I really will miss the ladies I work with so much. They are the sweetest, funniest and Craziest group of women I have ever worked with. I genuinely enjoy each of them, which I think is probably very rare.
This morning my boss even gave me a review just in case I needed one for another job or I ever wanted to come back to the county, and I got all the highest scores I could get and all of her comments were so nice I almost cried.
I know you are probably on pins and needles for a book update, so here we go. I finished The Happiness Project, Or Why I spend a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean my Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle and Generally Have More Fun By Gretchen Rubin and I loved it so much I was inspired to start my own Happiness Project. I plan to start in January and so far I have 9 months of resolutions picked out and now I just need to make my accountability charts and firm up the rest of the details. I really recommend this book. Even if you think you are already happy enough. I hope to blog about my project a lot so stay tuned.
A couple of weekends ago my parents and my in-laws came over for a Crazy Christmas Dinner Party. I made homemade lasagna, salad and garlic bread and my mom brought the cutest frosted sugar cookies, Yum! Then we all sat around and chit chatted until 11ish and then people went home. It was fun and I think everyone had a good time.
I have really been enjoying the cool weather that we finally got. I love sweaters and scarves so this has been a good weather couple of weeks.
Tomorrow I am picking up my fetus friend from the airport at an ungodly 8:45am. Doesn't she know tomorrow is my first day of freedom...?! Anyway, then we will have breakfast and I will pick up my very last Christmas present, and I will be DONE Christmas shopping. Then I get to spend time with two other really sweet friends and one very sweet little baby. Then I bake until my feet and hands are numb. What a day!
I suppose I should get back to working... =)
Happy Last Day to me!
