This is what I found when I opened my May Birchbox. I was sad. The blush that I was really looking forward to had exploded.
Look how sad the little tin is.
This is what was in my box after I got it all cleaned up.
I had samples of Miss Jessie's Jelly Soft Curls, COOLA Classic SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face, Marvis Toothpaste, Pilot Acroball PureWhite, and the exploded Cargo Water Resistant Blush.
I was kind of annoyed that there was a pen in my May box. It's definitely not the kind of product I want to see in the future.
I love the Miss Jessie's Jelly Soft Curls, which isn't a surprise. I have liked all of the Miss Jessie's products I've tried so far, and I look forward to trying more of their stuff. having curly hair can be quite a pain, so anything that helps tame my mane is appreciated.
I also really loved the COOLA SPF30 moisturizer. My future sister in law told me about the EWG sunscreen guide and I looked up COOLA and quite a few of their products are rated really well, but they are a little pricey so I haven't decided if I'll be taking the plunge and buying COOLA products for my poolside time this summer.
The Marvis Toothpaste was super minty and fresh. I like it a lot, but not enough to buy it. I think Crest with Scope or Colgate will do just fine for a lot less. However, if you want to buy me a strange present, I'd take a tube of Marvis.
I was able to salvage a little of the blush at the bottom of box and I liked it. I haven't decided if I want to buy it or not, only because I don't wear a lot of make up and I'm not sure how much I'd use it.
I also want to say that Birchbox was great when I emailed them about my blush explosion. They weren't able to replace the sample, but they did give me 100 Birchbox points ($10), which I can spend in the Birchbox store.
Overall this box was half awesome and half disappointing, which I guess equals alright. I can't wait for my June box. Birchbox is definitely my favorite piece of mail! I count down the days to each box!
