Natalie & Christopher in Germany

Hey there!

We are Natalie and Christopher. We blog about life in the suburbs of Orlando, FL with no kids and one dog. Thanks for checking in.

Coffee Crawl

Valentine's Day ended up being semi-disastrous. We spent A LOT of time waiting around and not enough time eating steak. More details on that mess tomorrow.

To make up for Valentine's day, we decided yesterday was going to be a free flowing, follow our hearts and stomachs, and throw caution to the wind kind of day.

After a giant brunch of homemade waffles, scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes and onions, and of course mimosas, we decided to go on a coffee crawl. My brother Jake came along for this wild day of drinking our weight in coffee and it was awesome.

We started with a bowl of coffee each at home to get started. We needed a base line for this experiment after all.

I didn't think to take a picture of this cup until I was almost done. I've never heard of a coffee crawl though, and if I invented something new I wanted it well documented.  If not, oh well. I'm happy to follow the crowd if it leads to  copious amounts of coffee.

Stop number 1: Austin's Coffee, Winter Park, FL

I usually drink my drip coffee black and my lattes just how they come, but I was feeling spicy, so I tried the very fancy toasted marshmallow latte. Oh. So. Good!

Stop number 2: Blue Bird Bake Shop, Orlando, FL - Audubon Park

We ended up only getting cupcakes at stop number two. Two Tuxedo cupcakes (chocolate cake & cream cheese frosting) and one red velvet cupcake. They have really good coffee, but we had to keep our goals in mind and the last top involved a meal. This was a marathon.

Stop number 3: Downtown Credo, Orlando, FL - College Park

I was feeling extra fancy when we got to Credo and tried their seasonal lavender syrup in my latte. Not going to lie, it was a little weird the first couple of sips, but absolutely grew on me by about sip 4 or 5. This place was awesome and I can't wait to go back. They run off of donations and on the menu suggest a donation amount, but you ultimately pay what you want. We had one small lavender latte, one iced coffee, and an americano, I paid $10 plus a little something for the tip jar. Having never been there before, I have no idea if that was in line with what people usually pay, but I really hope so.

Stop number 4: Pom Pom's Teahouse & Sandwicheria, Orlando, FL - Milk District

Wimp Water, Silver Fox Tea, Blueberry Muffin Tea

We planned to end our coffee crawl with a sandwich and tea from Pom Pom's because Jake had never been. I almost always get Silver Fox tea iced and sweetened. Every once in a while I'll be adventurous and try the tea of the day, and it has never disappointed, I just really love Silver Fox.

This little adventure was just what we needed to turn an otherwise annoying weekend around. I'm glad I have such a flexible husband. We'd never make it in life if he wasn't able to handle all of my crazy whims.

I've already started planning for the next coffee crawl! I plan to add a couple more coffee shops and snack stops to keep the jitters under control.
