Stuttgart, Germany 2018
We arrive in Stuttgart on Christmas day, by train of course.
Then we took a bus and a hike up a hill to get to our
. We later found out that we pretty much hiked up a hill for no reason, so that was annoying. Thanks a lot GoogleMaps.
We brought our cutie Christmas tree with us!
The hotel had a big gingerbread house in the lobby.
And a lovely Christmas tree.
After we checked in, we had a late lunch in the hotel bar. We all got sandwiches, and they were actually pretty darn good.
And what's a sandwich in Germany without a beer?
We were only in Stuttgart for Christmas afternoon - the morning of the 26th, so we didn't get to see a ton of stuff. So after we had lunch we headed out to wander around and see what we could see in the dark.
The Christmas markets had closed, but we did find an ice skating rink that still had some food and drink stalls open. We got gluhwein, are you surprised?
Schlossplatz Stuttgart, Stuttgart's Palace Square, a main hub for city life.
Because it was Christmas we had a fun dinner reservation at a steak place called
.
It was kind of dim, so pictures were hard.
We had our own private dining area.
There was even a curtain that they closed to give us extra privacy, becasue we are so fancy.
So this steakhouse was cool, you order meat and then they sear it and then bring it out to you on a super hot rock and you slice it and finish cooking it to the temperature you like. That way it can be perfect. Then all the steaks come with unlimited fries, or you can order a different unlimited side item, I got a baked potato. It was a really cool meal experience.
On the 26th we had breakfast at the hotel. It was a big breakfast buffet with lots of interesting options, including a honey station with different types of honey in fancy dispensers. After eating and checking out, we got on a train and headed back to Frankfurt for our last night in Germany. And yeah, we brought the tree.
