36 Hours in Orlando
A few weeks before we decided to explode our life and move north, we renewed our Broadway in Orlando season tickets. We are going to try and visit to see as many of the shows as possible because this season is packed with good ones.
The first show was Six The Musical, so we spent 36 hours in Orlando over the weekend to see the show and hug a few family members before flying back to VA.
We flew overnight so we got to watch the sunrise from the plane as we landed in Orlando. We stayed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel as a fancy treat for Christopher’s birthday weekend and saw a demonstration of support for women in Iran across the street in front of Orlando City Hall. We got Lazy Moon pizza and Royaltea for dinner on Saturday before Christopher visited with his family and I took a nap since I hadn’t slept since Thursday night.
On Sunday we spent the afternoon with my brother and sister in law and our nieces. The oldest niece taught me how to play Pokémon, they made us cookies, we got to meet their neighborhood cat, and soak up a bunch of hugs. We also saw some of the flooding in Seminole County, and it’s way worse than anything we experienced in the 36 years we lived in Florida. It’s incredible how high Lake Jesup is right now, the water is almost to the bridge and the hurricane was almost two weeks ago.
It’s hard to only have a few hours in Orlando, so hopefully we’ll be able to visit for a few days when we come for the next show.
