We Went Axe Throwing
To celebrate my dad’s birthday, we went AXE THROWING! It was a ton of fun. Here’s a look at our experience.
We went to Mother Chuckers in Bristol, VA. It’s a great size place and the staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful.
You are greeted by the front desk when you walk in, they will get you checked in and have you sign a quick liability waiver. They will take you to your throwing lane and explain the games available and give you pointers and tips for throwing axes if it’s your first time. Then they give you an axe and let you loose. We played two rounds of target practice and then a round of Zombie Hunting.
They have a pretty decent food menu as well as alcoholic and soft drinks. We got the Mother Chuckin’ Nachos party pack with smoked pork and they were good, plenty of chips and meat and cheese. I would have liked a little more bbq sauce, but I’m a whore for condiments, so it was probably a perfectly normal amount for regular people. I forgot to take a picture of them, oops.
It was a ton of fun, and I can’t wait to go back. I think my new goal in life is to be a good enough at axe throwing that when I go the people in the stall next to us are like “daaaaammmmmm, look at her”. So watch out, axe throwing crowd, here I come. I even got one bullseye, out of 20 tries, so that’s a start.
Have you ever been axe throwing? Let us know if you have any tips for our next attempt in the comments.
