Natalie & Christopher in Germany

Hey there!

We are Natalie and Christopher. We blog about life in the suburbs of Orlando, FL with no kids and one dog. Thanks for checking in.

I am thankful for America.

I am so glad that in America we have the responsibility and the privilege to vote. I hope that everyone I know took the time to educate themselves and vote this election season.

I actually voted early for the first and last time. Christopher and I went Friday night to vote and what a hot mess that was. It took 2 hours and 13 minutes. I've never waited that long to vote on a regular election day so I won't be voting early again. On the bright side, we voted in Oviedo and the chickens were out to vote as well. In case you aren't familiar with Oviedo, just google the Oviedo chickens. I took a few pictures with my phone because it was just too funny.

This is our little friend the rooster.

He danced and strutted around for us for about the first hour we were in line. You can see part of the line on either side of the background.

Then he flew himself up into a tree, and starting to cock-a-doodle-doo, or whatever that is called, bird howling? I'm not really that familiar with roosters. He's the dark spot in the middle of the picture.

While the rooster was up in the tree cock-a-doodle-dooing, we were having a blast. It was hysterical to watch and listen too, not to mention the hundreds of people in line taking pictures and giggling and talking about the rooster.

One thing I will say about voting early and in such a Looooong line, was that you definitely felt a sense of community with your fellow voters. It didn't matter who the people near you were voting for, people were chit chatting, playing games, sharing snacks, and making the best out of a 2+ hour line, all in the name of democracy. This is why I love this country, millions of people have or will stand in line for hours to share their voice and cast their vote. Roughly half of America is going to be disappointed tonight after the polls close, but they vote anyway, and you should too!

God bless the America.
