Natalie & Christopher in Germany

Hey there!

We are Natalie and Christopher. We blog about life in the suburbs of Orlando, FL with no kids and one dog. Thanks for checking in.

Quarantine Week Six

Quarantine Week Six

Welcome back friends. Week seven in quarantine has started, so let’s see what all we got up to in week six (April 20 -26).

We started the week with a stormy Monday, which I was all for. I love a good storm when I don’t have to leave the house.

Then the squirrels found our bird feeder and feasted like royalty.

We picked up groceries from Walmart Neighborhood Market curbside pick up and I ordered myself some strawberry milk for these trying times.

Then I spent two days making a blueberry cream pie. Homemade crust, homemade pudding, homemade blueberry sauce. And after letting everything chill, I realized I overcooked the pudding. I still put it together just to taste it, hoping it wouldn’t be terrible. It was terrible. So that was a waste of milk, eggs, blueberries, and hours of my life.

I recovered from my pie disaster thanks in large part to some quarantine coffee made by my brother.

After a little quarantine coffee we picked up some dinner from Agave Azul, including a half gallon of sangria. Quarantine or not, we know how to have a good time.

On Sunday we needed to go to Costco, we needed gas for the first time in a month and a half, propane for grilling, and some food stuffs. Of course right when we walked in they had a huge shelf of plants, so those went in the cart, duh. One hydrangea bush and one lavender plant.

Plus I also got three plants from my sister-in-law, becasue I’m really going all out on plants while I’m stuck at home. From left to right: Monstera, Chinese Money Plant (little one in the back), and Little Swiss Monstera (again in the back).

I am so excited to have so many cute and trendy plants. Now cross your fingers extra hard I can keep these little babes alive.

We got a watermelon at Costco and ate HALF of it in 2 days. It was so good and juicy, which is how you know it’s officially summer, no matter what the calendar says.

And last, we made some roasted potatoes and topped them with this incredible cheese from Trader Joe’s.

If your quarantine grocery shopping brings you to a Trader Joe’s I HIGHLY recommend this cheese. We also put it on top of a salad, and I think I’m going to use the last chunk of it for a pasta dish, if I don’t eat it all just for a snack.

Other than those highlights we’ve just been working from home, watching Netflix, hanging out with Lucy dog, and attempting to adjust to the new world we’re living in.

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. Have you done anything fun or unusual during quarantine? Share your fun ideas, tips, and/or tricks in the comments.
