Quarantine Weekend Five
Welcome back to the saddest series I’ve ever done, Weekends in Quarantine. Quarantine weekend number five was about as exciting as it gets. We went out for supplies, observed nature, and watched Wild Wild Country on Netflix.
We started Saturday with some pancakes, eggs, and leftover hash brown casserole from Easter, Lucy was jealous, like usual.
Then we started watching Wild Wild Country on Netflix, but Lucy wanted to remind us she is the queen and is not to be ignored for even 4 minutes.
We used the last of our eggs at breakfast so we masked up, and headed to Trader Joe’s for some groceries. Since we were already out of the house…. we decided to make it an errands extravaganza. We ran into The Sunroom for craft cocktails to go, Trader Joe’s for groceries, Foxtail Coffee for curbside coffee pick up, and then Boardwalk Pizza to pick up dinner. We wanted to do all we could to support some of our favorite local places. I think we will try and do something like this every Saturday, because we want our favorites to still be around when all of this is over.
The other small business we supported on Saturday was Anna Cakes, because when you can order cupcake delivery in the same flavors as your wedding cake, do it.
We ate these cupcakes so fast. Why didn’t I order more???
On Sunday we had raspberry kingle for breakfast, kept watching Wild Wild West and placed some pick up orders at Home Depot and Target We needed to replace a part in our toilet, so while Christopher looked it up I added dirt, rocks, planters, and bird feeders to my cart. Turns out Home Depot didn’t have what we needed for the toilet, but I had already worked so hard picking out pots and rocks and feeders, so I went ahead and placed my order and Christopher ordered the toilet parts online.
Because our guest bathroom (Christopher’s bathroom) toilet looks like this we are currently sharing a bathroom. Pray for us.
Like a lot of stores, Home Depot is limiting the number of people in the store. There was such a long line to get in, and we were the only car in curbside pick up. If you need any home improvement stuff while the world is upside down, don’t wait in the 90+ degree heat, use curbside pick up.
I am so excited about our bird feeders! We got one for seeds and one for hummingbirds. We have already had a lot of birds and squirrels come eat seeds, but we haven’t seen any hummingbirds yet. I also got a couple new pots, and replanted two of my inside plants.
We closed out the weekend by finishing Wild Wild Country. If you are fascinated by religious cults, this is a good and freaky watch. I hope you are staying safe and well and mostly at home.
