Easter Weekend in Quarantine
Imagine this part in John’s voice from the Carousel of Progress… It’s Spring here in the 2020. We’ve been in quarantine for over a month, and we celebrated Easter in our separate homes via FaceTime. We’ve been looking forward to technology enhancing our lives since the beginning of time, and now that we’ve made it to the future, I can’t help but wonder how we will celebrate holidays in 2075.
Our neighborhood had a window Easter egg hunt, so Christopher cut out a foam board egg and I painted it in bright colors, and we hung it outside. We also added some Easter egg garland that I usually hang inside to the bushes. It wasn’t the most beautiful Easter yard, but it was something.
We watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and put together the Hogwarts Express LEGO set.
We stopped by my brother and sister in law’s house to drop off some Easter baskets for the nieces and have a fancy quarantine latte made by my brother and fancy new professional espresso machine. I can’t wait for quarantine to be over so I can visit the private coffee shop again.
I set the table with pretty paper flowers, the eggs I made at the Rifle Paper Co. workshop last year, clear glass eggs, and a homemade candle.
We ordered Easter dinner from Metro Diner and we ordered Easter cupcakes from Anna Cakes.
We have been having fun with water beads recently, so we continued this fun by making stress balls by filling balloons with water beads, and freezing some. We are super exciting humans.
Quarantine aside, Easter is about Jesus. He is Risen. Hallelujah!
I hope you had a nice weekend. See ya back here next week for more riveting weekend in quarantine content. Stay safe and well friends.
