Saying Goodbye To Our First House
A little over TEN years ago we bought a green house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a nice yard, in a good school district. We obviously had NO CLUE what the next 10 years would look like, but we had plans and dreams.
The world tells you that when you get married, you move to the ‘burbs, get a pet, have 2.5 kids, fence your yard, and live happily ever after, or at least pretend to. We managed the pet, fenced yard, and happy portion of those societal norms, but we probably didn’t belong in the suburbs.
This week, we said goodbye. Goodbye to our first house, our first yard, our first big DIY projects, the best community pool, and the sweet neighbors we got to live near.
It’s bittersweet to leave this house, because we JUST got it to look and feel like it was completely ours, but now it’s empty, and someone else will move in and make it theirs.
It’s been a good 10 years in this little green house. We’re excited for whatever house comes next, and making that house a home.
Goodbye, house. Be good to your new humans.
