Aged Eggnog
It’s time!!! Time to make aged eggnog for the holiday season. I’ve used Alton Brown’s Aged Eggnog recipe for a few years now and it never disappoints. It’s strong, smooth, and a real crowd pleaser.
This was my first time making it in the woods (Abingdon) and I wasn’t able to get my favorite booze, but I made it work. This year I used Maker’s Mark 46 Bourbon, Hennessy Cognac, and Myers's Rum. My preference would have been to use Buffalo Trace, which is basically impossible to get, and El Dorado Rum.
Virginia is a control state, the state controls and sells all the liquor at state run liquor stores, and that means the options aren’t always great. Tennessee is the wild west, and only 20 minutes away, but we checked at a couple of the liquor stores near the state line and still couldn’t find what we were looking for. Sad day.
Anyway, if you want a delicious treat for a holiday party, family gathering, gift, or for your own fun, it’s time to make a batch of aged eggnog.
