Summer Bucket List Recap
This was a hard summer. We knew Lucy wasn’t in great shape, but losing her in July was devastating. We did some fun stuff this summer, but we did it heartbroken.
In June we saw fireworks, floated in a pool, and celebrated chocolate ice cream day and peanut butter cookie day.
In July we celebrated Sugar Cookie Day and the beginning of the Olympics (with French desserts)!
In August we went to a new town, Louisville, KY, and made S’mores and Creamsicles for S’mores Day and Creamsicle Day respectively, and celebrated all of the US Gold Medals.
The creamsicles were too soft and the sticks pulled right out, so we ate them in bowls.
I love s’mores and roasting marshmallows over a gas burner is the civilized way to have s’mores without a campfire.
Christopher and I went to Louisville, KY for a weekend to check out the KY State Fair. While we have both been to Louisville before, I hadn’t been since I was a child and we had never been together, so we considered this a new town for bucket list purposes.
We rode lime scooters for the first time and didn’t fall off or break any bones. I did, however, get a bruise from walking into the scooter next to mine while using the app to set it up.
We celebrated all of the USA’s Olympic gold medals, with some golden medals of our own.
We didn’t make it to the beach or to hunt rocks. And I can’t bring myself to have pictures taken without Lucy yet. It’s been a good and horrible summer. Life is a bitch like that sometimes.
I hope you had a fun summer!
